Inside Kana

Make time for practice.

Tools for exploring Japanese at your own pace.

Practice by hand

Draw on the screen and compare your writing with reference stroke paths. Your strokes stay as you drew them.

Feedback on each stroke

Review feedback on stroke direction, order, proportion and shape. Choose Forgiving, Standard or Strict grading.

See your progress

The 五十音 table shows which characters you have completed. Choose a character or continue through a practice session.

Choose how to practice

Adjust automatic marking and progression in Settings. Choose feedback marks alone or add red highlights to strokes that need attention.

Both scripts, 92 characters

Practice the 46 basic characters in each script. Dakuten variants, small kana and digraphs are not included as separate exercises.

English and Japanese

Choose either interface language in Settings, including stroke feedback, or follow your device language.

Your data

On your device.

The app saves completed characters, practice sessions, character familiarity estimates, and your settings on your device. If you enable sharing with other Mojin apps, familiarity data is also saved in a shared area on this device. Turning sharing off does not delete that shared copy, and it may remain while another participating app is installed. The app does not send this data to Ludofax. External links and support email use the services you choose to open, and device backups are managed through your Apple settings.
