Word help on the page
Tap words recognized by the built-in dictionary to see readings and English meanings without leaving the text. Some words may not have an entry.
Reading aids
Read furigana where it is supplied in the source text, and open word lookup for additional readings where available.
Adjust the page
Choose light, sepia or dark appearance, adjust contrast and text size, and select a mincho or gothic typeface.
A selected library
Browse 161 works from 青空文庫 by title or author. Sort by length, title, recent reading or vocabulary fit.
English and Japanese
Choose either interface language in Settings, or follow your device language. Literary texts are in Japanese and dictionary meanings are in English.
Your data
On your device.
The app saves word familiarity estimates from reading and lookups, your position in each work, and your settings on your device. If you enable sharing with other Mojin apps, familiarity data is also saved in a shared area on this device. Turning sharing off does not delete that shared copy, and it may remain while another participating app is installed. The app does not send this data to Ludofax. External links and support email use the services you choose to open, and device backups are managed through your Apple settings.
